Ansible is an open source automation platform used for IT orchestration, application deployment and configuration management. It is designed to help businesses automate mundane IT tasks, such as provisioning servers, deploying applications and configuring systems. Ansible eliminates the manual processes involved in deploying and managing applications, helping to save time, reduce costs and improve reliability. Additionally, because Ansible is agentless with no software or agents to install on remote systems, it can be quickly deployed and easily managed.
It works by connecting to nodes and pushing out small programs called “Ansible modules” to them. It then executes these modules and removes them when finished.
