RAM

RAM which stands for Random Access Memory which is the best-known form of computer memory. It is a computer’s short-term memory, where the data that the processor is currently using is stored.

Your computer can access RAM memory much faster than data on a hard disk, SSD, or other long-term storage device, which is why RAM capacity is critical for system performance.

It is a temporary memory bank where your computer stores data it needs to retrieve quickly. It resets every time the system is rebooted.

RAM is “volatile memory,” meaning it only stores data when it has power, as opposed to a “non-volatile” HDD or SSD. Programs are loaded into RAM temporarily while in use, but reside on a storage drive permanently (until deleted).

Do You Know What The Size Of RAM Is?

RAM is small, both in physical size (it’s stored in microchips) and in the amount of data it can hold. A
typical laptop computer may come with 4 gigabytes of RAM, while a hard disk can hold ten terabytes.

Why Is It Better To Have More RAM?

The only thing that additional RAM does is allow your computer to do more things at once, not make it faster. So if you usually have a few dozen windows open before you launch your video game, you’ll see some speed improvement by upgrading, or you could close a few apps.
